Waukegan, IL ? U.S. Congressman Robert J. Dold (IL-10) held a small business roundtable in Waukegan to discuss starting a business in Lake County and the difficulty these businesses face when trying to access capital. The event was held at Zip Fitness.
?Small business is the backbone of our economy,? said Dold. ?We need to empower small businesses so that they have the resources they need to grow and expand. That is why I have supported four bipartisan bills which would help entrepreneurs and small business have access to capital. Working together to create economic certainty must continue to be our number one priority.?
Zip Fitness is a low-cost fitness gym that started in Waukegan and has expanded throughout the Chicagoland area. Other local small business owners joined the conversation and spoke about the challenges they are facing in the region and also the positive aspects of running a business in Lake County. Zip Fitness is supportive of Dold?s efforts to expand small businesses access to capital as this bipartisan legislation, that passed the House with over 400 votes each, could have the potential to save them up to $30,000 a year.
